HOW IT WORKS

1. Upload your video and place your order

Choose whether you would like a timestamp in your video, then select how long your video will be. Upload your video on the checkout page and place your order.

2. Video Preparation

Once your order has been approved, the video will have the timestamp added (if applicable), be downscaled to a 640×480 resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio and 25 frames per second. The video is then copied onto a USB and inserted into a DVD which supports USB playback.
The DVD player’s AV output is connected to the VCR’s AV input, allowing the VCR to see what’s being played on the DVD player.

3. Recording onto the VHS tape

With a tape inserted into the VCR, I simply hit the record button and press play on the DVD player. This is where your video will be properly converted to analog and be given the authentic VHS effects.

4. Recording back onto the computer

Once the video is recorded onto the VHS tape, the footage is then rewound back to the start, ready to be recorded back onto the computer.
A capture card is connected from the VCR’s AV output to the computer. The VHS is played while the capture card records the analog video onto the computer back as a digital file.

5. Final editing and rendering

The video gets a final lookover while the audio is tweaked to sound old using some high and low pass filters. After which, the video is rendered one last time and is ready to be sent back to you.

6. Receiving your VHS style video
